Kissing Through a Pane of Glass edition by Peter Michael Rosenberg Literature Fiction eBooks
This is a male POV love story, and the way that Peter shows us his main character's thoughts is unparalleled. His view on the trivialities of life is humorous, yet sincere and demonstrated in a way that is literally brilliant!I usually read YA, but received an opportunity to read this book via a promotion. The premise intrigued me, wherein a young man (Michael) is desperately in love with a woman (Liana) he meets by chance on an overseas trip. She is beautiful, breathtaking, and the one that Michael wants more than anything else in the world. Thing is, Liana is mentally unstable, and this takes Michael for a ride that he never expected to go on. But he's tenacious, for his love drives the vehicle and there's nothing he can do but cherish his fragile Liana. No matter what.
Having had a friend with severe manic depression, I personally understand how frustrating it is to care about someone who, at times, cannot care about you. Peter's characters exemplify this with such detail that I felt close to them, and could "be" them. I'm absolutely down now that I finished the book - but elated because I have had a taste of what Peter's writing is all about. I look forward to reading more of his work (and you should, too)!

Kissing Through a Pane of Glass edition by Peter Michael Rosenberg Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This story is heartbreaking in places. It's also frustrating, well it was to me anyway. I'd still recommend it though.
Book synopsis and reviews "Gripping! Tense! Powerful! Disturbing!"
The actual book *10 chapters of how bad the protagonist is at sex*
There's setup, and then there's boring your readers to death. (Which is a shame, because the author's writing style is pretty decent.) Also, can we please retire the exhausting trope of Man Doesn't Know What to Do When Woman Cries? They're tears, not some ancient secret that mortal minds could never possibly comprehend. DNF.
If there was a rating less than one star, I would have used it. I have varied tastes and read many genders and skills of writing. I read 24% and then gave up.
This was the first book I read by Peter Rosenberg and I really love his writing. He has a real talent for hooking you into the story. This one starts out with two people meeting in a foreign place and falling in love, well we know for sure that HE did. The book takes several twists and turns throughout the very well written tale and it was hard to put the book down. I just wanted to see if these two could be together in the end. I don't have any real experience with mental illness but it feels like it was portrayed here honestly. I would definitely recommend this book for a great read!
The best thing a novel can do is bring you into the fold of the narration and make you part of the action. This novel did that, and more. The characters seem so life-like and practically jump off the page, and at every turn it felt like I knew who these people are, that I was right there with them, through good and bad. The twists and turns that the story took only added to the haunting feel, but in a surprisingly good way.
Throughout the entire story, I was always wondering if this might have been based on real events, but the goal of a writer is to make the reader believe every word. This is most assuredly a story that could happen to anyone.
And the character development- it starts off with your typical young man, enjoying life and just having fun. In the end, he has matured and taken on a responsibility that most men of that age would run away from with tails tucked between their legs.
Bravo!
With this one book, Mr. Rosenberg has immediately become one of my favorite authors, next in line only to Dean Koontz and Anne Rice.
I first discovered Peter Rosenberg after reading Implicated. This is an entirely different kind of tale and showcases the writer's range of talent. While Implicated was a tense gripping thriller, this is a gripping story of a totally different kind. The two stories do have one thing in common though. You'll find them hard to walk away from.
Mr Rosenberg has a rare talent for drawing you into his stories. You don't even feel it happen at first. But by the end of the first chapter, you're trapped and there's no way out until you finish his book. Not that you'd want to escape from the story anyway. His characters are well fleshed out and he really knows how to use locations to good effect. The scenes set in India are particularly evocative, almost making you feel as if you're there.
Kissing Through A Pane Of Glass is a love story. Not happy ever after sort of love story. It's a deeply disturbing tale of obsessive love. A tale that will linger in your mind long after you finish reading it.
I'm so glad this book was free because it was horrid. I can't believe this book has five stars. The main character has the morality and personal convictions of a housecat. In a matter of days he allows a strange and spycho woman to dictate his life because he is horny and she is pretty. He has a horrible friend, Richard, whom he keeps in his life even though Richard tried to rape an old girlfriend. His attempts at personal reflection and philosophical ramblings were positively mind numbing. I was constantly having to figure out where in time the story was taking place because it kept bouncing back and forth between the main characters "deep thoughts", the past, and the present story line. This character was not obsessivley in love. He was an idiot. That was a couple hours of my life I'll never get back.
